• Was selected as the summer intern to assist with the American Dance Festival's (ADF) young dancers ages 16-18 attending ADF's two summer dance training programs on Duke University's campus. One program was a six-week training program and the other program was a four-week training program. Students had the option to commute or dorm for each program. • Assisted ADF's Director of the four-week training program and ADF's Director of program administration with organizing schedules for faculty, students, and dorm counselors.• Facilitated a successful administrative and logistical execution of the four-week program as an intern because ADF's Director of program administration became ill and had to take a leave of absence during that time. • Prepared and supported dorm counselors for their supervisor roles with student attendees.• Served as the primary point of contact of ADF's young dancer attendees for ADF administrators, ADF faculty, dorm counselors, and parents.*Special note: During this summer at ADF, the H1N1/swine flu pandemic was occurring and extra precautions and protocols had to be implemented, which required additional unique responsibilities to my role. I attended safety protocol meetings with Duke University personnel from other summer programs on campus. I contacted parents to alert them of ADF's safety measures and to become aware of any pre-conditions students had coming into the program. ADF had a few cases of swine flu occur within its student attendees that summer. All of those cases were students in the 16-18 group I oversaw. I coordinated with ADF and Duke University administrators to setup a quarantine system for those students.
