The E.Y.E Academy came about from graduate school work done by Mr. A. Lynch. In his research, he found that a huge indicator for high school student completion, including academic and social success, was self-esteem. Further, self-esteem amongst high school aged students comes about in relation to how they feel their lives are progressing, in direct correlation to their more affluent peers. The E.Y.E Academy aims to provide access to programs and events that students would not likely be able to attend (due to socioeconomic status), in order to increase self worth and esteem, leading to greater HS completion for underprivileged youth.
