Authored Individualized Education Plans (IEP) through: writing the Current Levels of Performance, goals and objectives, Service Delivery Grid, and MCAS-Alternative plan to support student needs throughout the year. Improved student achievement with all students achieving ~80% of their IEP goals and the remaining percentage progressing toward achievement at years end for the 2018-2019 school year.Completed Functional Analysis and Functional Behavior Assessments to create function-based Behavior Intervention Plans in order to reduce maladaptive behaviors and increase functional alternatives.Supervised ~15 paraprofessionals by holding weekly meetings and providing ongoing problem-solving support throughout day-to-day tasks.Facilitated communication between parents, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, general education teachers, physicians, and specialists (OT, PT, SLP) to support student needs throughout the year. Achieved a score of Progressing or higher on 100% of MCAS-Alt portfolios completed in the 2018-2019 school year.Advocated for more community-based learning opportunities to generalize skills learned in the classroom. Redesigned training & development procedures to mentor three new staff members and support their overall growth.Developed a Preference Assessment for paraprofessionals to identify effective methods that would increase performance and decrease staff burn out, 100% of paraprofessional’s agreed this assessment improved their relationship with their supervisor and helped them feel more supported in their environment.

Acted as a research assistant to Ashleigh Hillier, PhD and completed literature reviews on the topics of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in STEM fields, as well as the challenges & supports of college students with ASD.Supported applied research focuses on programs for adolescents and young adults with AD including "the Network", a support group for students with ASD. Supported marketing and organization of events for the Center for Autism Research & Education (CARE). This included attending various events to network with other researchers, professionals, and families, designing the logo and branding for the center, and assisting guest speakers throughout their visit at the university.

Planned and implemented 13 events volunteer events, including Read for the Record with the Mayor of Lawrence, Family Nights at partner preschools, Dr. Seuss yearly celebration, and a variety of material creation nights for volunteers.Recruited, managed, and trained 68 volunteers to serve 11 classrooms for assorted Jumpstart service projects. Assisted in identifying volunteer projects through needs assessment, research, and community outreach. Received intensive training and professional development training topics such as event planning, volunteer recruitment, and securing in-kind donations.

Create and implement individualized curriculum and behavior programs using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), to help children diagnosed with Autism reach their full potential.Provide on going trainings for parents on specific content areas, and individualized trainings to support the needs of each child or family.

Supported the work being completed by Yana Weinstein Jones and The Learning Scientists, a group of psychological scientists interested in the science of learning. In this role, I supported the vision to motivate students to study, increase the use of effective study and teaching strategies & decrease negative views of testing through social media management and writing blog posts.

Participated as an AmeriCorps member in an award-winning network of volunteers who provide individualized attention and positive adult-child relationships to prepare children attending preschool in low-income neighborhoods for school success. Led 6 team members to provide developmentally appropriate educational activities, with a focus on language and literacy, to young children. Coached team members by modeling developmentally appropriate practices and guiding reflection and discussion related to adult practice and children’s development. Facilitated team planning meetings and led twice weekly in-classroom activities to promote children’s language, literacy, and social-emotional development. Coordinated team administration, including facilitating well organized team meetings, managing notes and records, and communicating regularly with classroom teachers and the team’s site manager.
