COMET Auckland - Te Hononga Akoranga is an Auckland Council Controlled Organisation (CCO) and Charitable Trust focused on achieving educational and social systems change. This is achieved by identifying barriers to equal educational opportunity, securing funding, and designing and incubating projects that can be adopted and rolled out by larger organisations at a regional or national level. The Youth Employability Programme (YEP) is one such project, designed to support rangatahi to develop the transferable skills they will need to succeed in the twenty-first century employment landscape. I am deeply grateful to have led, scaled and handed over implementation of the YEP in Auckland to Youthtown Inc. who will continue this important kaupapa. Key responsibilities of the Coordinator role:- Design and operationalise a plan to scale the YEP by at least 15% (2 - 3 programmes) per year in areas of highest need across the region.- Build YEP brand reputation and awareness across the education and business sectors as a solution to bridge the 'education-to-employment gap'.- Establish strategic partnerships with government agencies, educators, service providers and businesses to strengthen the employability eco-system, influence best-practice and improve youth employment outcomes.- Shape and chair the YEP Auckland Steering Group who contribute to setting and achieving strategic objectives.- Recruit, train and lead a team of contracted facilitators to deliver the YEP. - Support the development/improvement of the YEP learning resources.- Provide training and mentoring to all YEP delivery partners to ensure high quality programme delivery and the achievement of programme outcomes.
