Supervise, monitor, and assess visits between children and their families at the Native Child and Family Services of Toronto facilities, the client’s home and/or the community with a focus on developing and enhancing parent-child relationships, providing role modeling and support to both parents and children to facilitate successful interactions in visits which may include hands on teaching of child care, infant care feeding and developmental milestones. Working within a wholistic framework, which builds on individual and family strengths while being child-focused. Awareness of the impact of issues such as mental health, domestic violence and substance abuse on parenting. Assist in the delivery of student employment programs. Provide job search assistance and direction to students (secondary & post-secondary). Meet with students to register for service, explain programs and services and provide necessary information and referral services. Develop and deliver job search workshops to youth in City of Kawartha Lakes; match students to local employers; promote programs to students & employers on and off-site. Create employment, networking, volunteer and skills development opportunities for youth living in rural communities. Coordinate, schedule, promote & facilitate workshops. Assist in all areas of student job search; provide ongoing support and follow up to students seeking summer employment. Work with Resource Centre staff, employment counsellors and job developers to match students to available jobs in their communities; provide incentive information to employers. Assist with management and maintenance of on-line job board & social media marketing.
