Currently I am working part time as an administrative assistant to the executive pastor at the church I attend as I pursue a degree in Communications. I support him with administrative tasks, communicating with our various ministry departments, and pushing the various missions of the church forward.My last job was four years at the same church where I started out as the receptionist, then became the administrative assistant to the prior executive pastor, and upon his departure the campus administrator as I retained some of his responsibilities. I oversaw some of the day-in and day-out needs of the church as well as various processes among staff, and sat at the hub of communication amongst many staff areas as well as other ministries in the church.I value a vision to set my sights and energies upon, and I developed a respect for processes and their role in increasing efficiency and fruitfulness in a team. I am able to learn many things and I take pride in doing whatever is assigned to me well. Communication is a strength and a high personal value as relationships matter a great deal to me and I find good communication fosters a better culture in the workplace, as well as rendering a better team environment and opportunity for collaboration.I find a general awareness of personality types (whether through the Enneagram, Myers Briggs, DISC, or any available information) to be a help in interacting with coworkers, understanding that we are all wired differently and communicate differently, and availing ourselves to any tools which assist us in understanding one another is a benefit.At the beginning of my time at the church I also worked at a chiropractor's office taking notes in the exam room with the main chiropractor.My main job before that was two years at a retirement community where I initially was the main receptionist, and later had bookkeeping responsibilities added onto my job.
