The Healthier Washinton initiative charts a bold course for transformative change in health and health care in Washington State. Guided by the state's five-year Health Care Innovation Plan and a $65 million federal grant, Healthier Washington builds the capacity to achieve better health, better care, and lower costs for at least 80 percent of Washingtonians by 2019. As operations manager, I oversaw the operating functions of Healthier Washington to support timely completion of project deliverables, resolution of operational barriers, alignment with policy priorities and interventions under the grant, and the use of process controls to ensure project alignment with the Health Care Authority's policies and procedures.

As a key member of the Health Care Services' Division executive management and leadership teams, I was responsible for a wide range of policy, operational, and communication duties. I led and directed all aspects of communication, administrative policy development and implementation activities, business process improvement initiatives (requiring Six Sigma/LEAN tools), strategic planning and execution, extensive legislative and constituent relations and related stakeholdering activities, interpreter services program for Medicaid-eligible clients, and fiscal and program budget planning and monitoring activities for Medicaid and state-only health care programs.
