As the RSP Teacher, my responsibility is to support students with extraordinary needs by ensuring that they are given the appropriate accommodations to succeed in the general education curriculum. In addition, I lead 3 learning centers, supporting students in their classes using push-in and pull-out methods, and providing scaffolding and guidance through the completion of their class assignments, projects, and tests. I also monitor their progress towards their individual CCSS-aligned goals, arrange for special accommodations, like testing schedules and use of speech to text, with general education teachers for best student outcomes. I teach study skills, social skills, and work with parents to help identify easier ways to for students to succeed. A lover of social-emotional learning and wellness, I incorporate brain breaks, mindfulness practices, and activities to encourage student voice and in turn, self-worth, engagement, and purpose.
