Analysis of the public perception in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. I created a KAP survey that analyzed the knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding variables such as, the available treatments and severity of the pandemic, along with the recommended sanitation practices. The survey will be distributed to university students housed in high, low, and moderate risk states at the time of the outbreak. The goal is to determine the factors that contribute to the varying responses to the pandemic and ultimately aid in identifying where public health efforts should be focused in regards to public education during the pandemic.

Mentorship of African students seeking graduate STEM education in the United States. Mentorship includes review of application materials, as well as advising on other aspects of how to become a globally competitive graduate school applicant. The goal of this non-profit organization is to provide gifted sub-Saharan Africa students with access to the tools they need and may not have access to for a chance to not only participate in higher education at top universities, but to also make meaningful research contributions once there.

Management of an education team dedicated to the creation of educational games and activities that would inform the public of facts and statistics regarding various types of cancer at educational fairs and the annual Relay for Life event. Relay for Life brought together members of the university and the public to a two-day experience focused on raising awareness and funds for cancer research and treatment. Teamwork, as well as leadership skills were involved in this position.

Winter break spent volunteering in the Infectious Disease unit of Olive View hospital. Primary responsibility was the observational surveying of the presence or absence of proper sanitary practices amongst health professionals within different hospital units. The survey results were inputted into logs for later data analysis and assessment of the use of these hygiene practices. Familiarity with such practices was gained and basic observations of hospital interactions were made.

Tutoring of students ranging from high school to college in biology, chemistry, classical physics, and math ranging from college algebra to linear algebra and differential equations. This included individual and group tutoring as well as leading exam prep sessions.
