I have found my passion through creating art in one way or another. From getting my first taste of journalism in high school as a sophomore who joined the yearbook staff, to working my way up the ranks, becoming an editor of two sections of my senior yearbook. I graduated high school in a mask, and the shutdown inspired me to persevere. Following high school, I took on a full courseload at Saddleback College, where I decided to carry my passions further. Starting a small jewelry business gave me my first taste of marketing and production as a one-woman show. I started working with a local photography studio, where I expanded my love for photojournalism in sports, as well as a love for portraits and flashing lights. At this time, I decided to take a chance at broadcast and radio media on campus. I found my hard work paying off as I, along with a group of three other peers, won an award from the Journalism Association of Community College for a video feature we created based on vinyl record culture. Producing and broadcasting live radio shows on 88.5 KSBR. Hosting radio interviews for the LoFI Media Radio show, as well as OC In Focus, a public affairs program. Anchoring a newscast as a host of OC Now. Writing and producing feature segments for OC Now. I decided to expand my love for written journalism, joining an independent music magazine outside of school, where I learned how to write features and press releases based on entertainment news and pop culture. At Saddleback, I joined campus-run publications:With Lariat News, I produced a few written pieces online, from interviews to features. On staff, I became a Photo Editor and assisted with graphics used for pieces. While working with Orange Appeal, I became a Co-Editor-In-Chief of the Summer publication, assisting with organizing pages, writing stories and overseeing many of the staff operations. After graduating summa cum laude with two associate's in both journalism and communications, I decided to bring my ambition to California State University, Long Beach in 2022 to continue my education as a Public Relations student. As of Spring 2023, I have joined the sports marketing team as a photography intern, and have been inducted into the Kappa Tau Alpha National Honor Society in Journalism and Mass Communication at CSULB.
