As of December 2020, I am a proud graduate of UC Santa Cruz with a bachelor's in computer science. As a life-long learner, I study economics, philosophy, and sociology in my free time in addition to furthering my knowledge in my field. I am also very passionate about improving the lives and world around me. In college, I was elected as the Corporate Relations Chair of the Information Systems Management Association (ISMA). In this role, I reached out on behalf of ISMA to coordinate company tours and career development seminars hosted by UCSC alumni in technology companies such as Google, Twitter, Cisco and Looker. I developed important interpersonal skills such as communication and teamwork while also lifting up my peers, a win-win for all involved. My favorite part of ISMA was inspiring my peers that yes, they can have amazing professional experiences as early as this summer as an intern or recent graduate if they start applying now. Many college students suffer from imposter syndrome and set expectations for themselves and their futures too low. I empathize and realize the general issue -- insufficient self-esteem and lack of belief in oneself -- affects people of all demographics. I'm currently looking for a nonprofit to get involved in to address these issues and give people the opportunities they need to succeed whether it be skill development, networking opportunities, career development, or personal development.
