Alyssa is an Environmental Sciences professional with expertise in Natural Resources Management, GIS, and Renewable Energy. With a background that bridges Information Technology and environmental planning, she has contributed to national companies and organizations in residential solar, engineering, and telecommunications. Alyssa’s passion for sustainability and conservation is evident in her diverse skill set and dedication to environmental stewardship.Certified in Ethical Recreation (LNT, 2011) and NABCEP Associate in Photovoltaics (2017-2021), she has also interned with the Student Conservation Association, where she conducted tree species inventory in Colorado’s plains (2020). As a Notary Public and ROW Clerk, Alyssa combines precision, organization, and attention to detail, which are crucial in her work with a global telecommunications company.Currently pursuing a degree in Geospatial Information Sciences (GIS) in Urban Planning from Arizona State University, Alyssa’s academic journey spans Grossmont College and Grand Valley State University, where she studied Music Performance, Environmental Sciences, and Geology. Her goal is to advance into forestry and land management, collaborating with government agencies to promote sustainable land use, ethical recreation and preserve natural resources.Inspired by iconic 80s and 90s pop culture movies like "Dante's Peak" and "Indiana Jones," Alyssa’s early fascination with environment and adventure laid the foundation for her career in STEM. Though she once dreamt of being a Park Ranger and conservationist, her path has evolved to encompass broader environmental disciplines, including cartography, archaeology, and geology. She remains committed to this vision, even if it becomes her retirement pursuit.Beyond her professional and academic pursuits, Alyssa is an outdoors enthusiast and artist who enjoys painting, gardening, photography, hiking, and camping. She volunteers with her child’s local Cub Scout Pack where she plans the year's Scouting curriculum and leads fun outdoor activities and excursions immersed in learning and awareness just like her favorite childhood NPS Park Ranger role models. She engages in historical and genealogical research, which fuels her love for road trip planning. Adaptable and resilient, Alyssa believes that the best paths are rarely straightforward, and it’s her diverse skills and experiences that guide her journey.
