I graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 2020 with a BA in Biology, and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army as an infantry officer. I am currently a student at Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course in Fort Benning, GA. My experiences majoring in science in college and working as an infantry officer have given me the best of both worlds. In college I was able to hone my hard-science skills through lab work, data analysis (specifically in R), peer review, and research project proposal. I worked as a microbiology lab TA where I was able to further practice proper laboratory techniques and explore the microbiological concepts. My experiences in ROTC and now as a commissioned officer have helped me develop a completely different skillset. I have been able to explore put my leadership capabilities to the test. Having been put in a multitude of challenging leadership scenarios, I can efficiently and effectively describe a problem and proposed solution. I have been able to develop my communication and management abilities in order to support the success of my team.Through my experiences in college and as an IBOLC student, I have developed valuable leadership skills that allow me to excel in challenging and adverse conditions.
