Alyssa M. Alcorn Email and Phone Number
I'm looking for a new position! I am interested in hearing about new opportunities in academic or industry research, higher education, and the third sector.I recently wrapped up my role as the Research and Impact Lead on the Learning About Neurodiversity at School (LEANS) project. LEANS is a free programme for mainstream primary schools to introduce pupils aged 8-11 years to the concept of neurodiversity, and how it impacts our experiences at school. I led an interdisciplinary team of educators and researchers to develop, evaluate, and release these resources, and have secured impact-focused funding to extend their reach. The LEANS resources are available through our project website, where over 8,500 people have downloaded them since our release in 2022. Get LEANS here! https://salvesen-research.ed.ac.uk/leansIn addition to my work with neurodiversity and schools, I have 10+ years' experience designing and evaluating technologies to support and teach young children on the autism spectrum and with other special educational needs, with a particular focus on social communication and technology use in school contexts. I also have 10+ years experience with university-level teaching and project supervision in related areas.
