Hello, I am Alyssa McSween. I have worked in government contracting for 4 years. I started with a company, All in Solutions LLC, and worked three contracts with them. Paper mail was my first contacting job. They were contracted with the VA (Veteran Affairs). They won a contract to have VAs medical/physical copies of paperwork to be digitized, named and added under the correct veteran for sorting purposes. We as a group, looked through anywhere between 5-1000s of pages of documents to correctly identify paperwork and there were no commingling of veterans. Pensions was my second contracting job, this was only done for a few months as a transition to the new contract the company had won. I went through pension paperwork and death certificates of veterans/spouses/family members and digitized important wording that was needed. Scanned through handwriting to make sure everything was typed out correctly. This was also done with keystrokes, the more and faster you typed, the better work you did. I worked anywhere between 15000 to 25000 keystrokes a day. The final contract I worked on, with the company, All in Solutions, was FOIA-PA requests and Redactions for veterans requesting specific paperwork from the VA. We worked closely with IBM and the VA to correctly work through veteran requests. First you needed the request uploaded to the system. Next was to look through the request and make sure you are choosing the correct documents needed to be sent. Then once you had the correct documents, you uploaded them to the system. Once uploaded you go through every document, make sure there is no PII information and redacted the documents if they did have PII information. Once completed it went through final review before being sent off for the veteran to be received. Knowledge Capital Associates I worked on a contract with EMS (Expeditionary Medical Systems) as a Procurement Analyst. I attended yearly AMAL reviews and procure Medical Equipment for the Medlogs. I work in ECAT to look up equipment for purchases. I also work in excel for tracking all of our upcoming orders and tracking shipments. I create buy lists for predicted purchases and send them for money obligations before purchase. I currently work at Bowhead as a Procurement Analyst (Logistician II) working on IT Procurements for the Navy. I assist in creating IT Procurements, using an application called NAVITAS. I track all of the procurement submissions using Excel. I work alongside the government to make sure everything is submitted efficiently and on time.
