-Develop and teach classes outside to students grades 4th-8th (9-150 students) that align with NGSS-Mentor, train, hire, and evaluate staff-Coordinate with teachers from surrounding schools to develop a program that meets the students’ needs-Create a schedule for each visiting school that coordinates 3 departments: Maintenance, Kitchen, and Education departments.-Foster curricula and resources for the program-Create, develop, schedule, and implement Summer Camps-Register campers, promote camp (in newspaper ads and on social media), liaison between staff and parents-Contact schools interested in visiting our site and create yearly schedule-Initiated and maintained an Instagram account-Facilitate programs on topics such as ecology, cultural history, outdoor skills, and team building-Write and organize publications for campus newsletter-Conduct one on one meetings with staff to aid their professional development-Trained in emergency procedures while assuming position of Manager on Duty during visitors’ overnight stay-Construct and deliver workshops to further the professional learning of employees-Foster a relationship with the surrounding community and create programs to meet their needs-Devise and organize outreach programs with the local library, park district, and retirement center-General maintenance of trails, removal of invasive species and upkeep of facilities

-Interviewed references for incoming camp counselors-Trained Leaders In Training (LITs, ages 13 and 14) and Counselors In Training (CITs, ages 15 and 16), evaluated their hands-on experience, and planned opportunities for additional leadership training and experience-Mentored, trained, and evaluated the Camp Counselors-Modeled the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility

-Developed and delivered lessons for 5th and 6th graders (groups of 14-17 students) ranging from nature journaling, watersheds, redwood forest/coastal ecology, to urban gardening-Promoted community and leadership by helping students cooperate with children from different schools and backgrounds-Trained and mentored Cabin Counselors (ages 15-18) to ensure quality customer service-Maintenance of 2 acre edible garden

-Managed Nature Discovery Center by creating and rotating exhibits as well as coordinating with the Wildlife Curator-Taught hands-on science lessons to grades pre-K to 8th (groups of 8-16 students) based on NGSS-Led interpretive boat tours for the general public, shared information about the natural and cultural history of the area-Designed and presented public programs for 25 participants on natural history, botany and sustainability-Coordinated annual events for families and other garden members (attendance of over 2500 guests).-Taught outreach programs with resident barred owl for all ages

-Daily Environmental Educational hikes that coincided with classroom lessons including erosion, horse handling, soil/forest layers, water usage, environmental awareness and others to 4th-6th graders (15-30 students)-Facilitated and guided team building and leadership activities such as sensory awareness, Star Lab, night hikes, campfire, shelter building, and rock climbing belay-General maintenance of trails, removal of invasive species and upkeep of facilities

-Daily handling of gloved trained birds of prey and native reptiles-Developed and delivered educational programs for the general public on native wildlife-Designed curriculum based, school group programs for Kentucky and Tennessee students (K-12)-Directed outdoor excursions i.e. canoe trips, day/night hikes and wildlife viewing tours-Provided quality customer service to visitors-Conducted roving interpretations daily
