I began my professional journey as an engineer. I love solving complex problems and understanding the intricacies of how things work. However, it did not take me long working in a manufacturing environment as an engineering liaison between various organizations to discover my passion and interest in one of the most complex systems that exists: human beings working in large groups toward a shared goal.My first step toward learning about organizational and human dynamics was enrolling in a Certified Professional Coach training program. This 2-year program started with an incredible journey of self-discovery and taught me the art of walking alongside people through change, which became fundamental to my leadership style. Soon after completing my coach training, I was accepted into the Boeing Leadership Rotation Program (BLRP), which is a 3-year rotation program that fosters and promotes Servant Leadership. The program connects us with three, 1-year long leadership assignments with one rule: we manage teams that are NOT in our areas of technical expertise. For my rotations, I left engineering to lead in Supply Chain, in Finance, and in HR (leadership development). My time in the BLRP challenged and shaped me as a leader. I learned a TON, met many wonderful people, and led the teams to accomplish projects we didn’t think were possible when we started. These assignments helped me learn who I am and what I stand for as a leader, and they fostered in me a passion for teaching/facilitating leadership development in others.Since completing the BLRP, I returned to Production Engineering and have been continuously searching for opportunities to incorporate development of leaders into my role. My future career goal is to become a leadership development practitioner and coach, helping others to embrace their journey of becoming the best leaders they can be.
