I am an avid lover of web development. I am self-taught with HTML, CSS, some PHP, and MySQL. I was provided with an outstanding opportunity with LaunchCode and completed the LC101 Full-Stack Web Development Course. Within the course, I learned basic knowledge of JavaScript, Java, SpringBoot, Thymeleaf, Angular, and MySQL. I chose to take the course because of my love for web development and the desire to expand my resources and knowledge base.In my free time, I love to work on my own web coding projects. I have one that has been an ever-changing passion project that began in 2008 and has morphed many times over and continues to grow. I have worked in the customer service industry for many years in many different forms of employment. I started with the "simple" task of a McDonald's employee. With that, I set the foundation of customer service with a smile and was required to quickly learn many things, such as time management, money management, working on a team, and working directly with customers. I further developed my communication skills when I moved onward into a waitressing position. This role relied heavily on customer service, mathematical skills when handling transactions, accuracy with orders, and more time management.For a period of time, I was given the chance to be a nanny each weekend with a wonderful family. I was caring for three children, whose ages were six years and younger at the start of my employment. During the duration of employment, active skills used and learned were things such as being flexible and adaptable. The use of good judgment skills, patience, being trustworthy, and great communication skills. It helped that I have a caring and loving nature about me, and to be able to promote creativity and grow my interpersonal skills.Another big game changer for me was my time at Essendant, formerly known as United Stationers. They are a Fortune 500 company that stocks companies with office supplies, janitorial supplies, furniture, and tech products. I was employed in the call center as a Customer Service Representative. My job duties varied. I was able to take phone calls quickly and meet many different requests from a customer, ranging from placing orders, tracking orders, handling errors, checking inventory, etc. On the other end, I was also very active in our emails and handled very much the same requests. Upsales, suggestive sales, and alternative item suggestions were a big key. I regularly was able to practice my oral and written communication skills, and worked very well with all of my team members.
