Academic Advising is a decision-making process in which advisors assist students to realize the maximum educational benefits available to them in order to better understand themselves, and to use the resources of K-State to meet their educational needs and aspirations. Advisors collaborate with faculty to address academic advising needs of individuals and/or groups of students. Currently, advising students who are pursuing the following degrees: Aviation Maintenance Management, Airport Management, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Aeronautical/Engineering), Computer Systems, Digital Media Technology, Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Web Development Technology.

My position works with developing, implementing, and supporting the FHSU Family Association, Family Webinars, New Family Welcome Weekend, Family Weekend, and the Family of the Year Recognition program. I also work with FHSU transfer students. I advise the Tau Sigma Honor Society, and this fall I will be the coordinator for the Transfer Network which is similar to a Living Learning Community. I supervise 13 Orientation Leaders and 1 Orientation Coordinator for Family Programs. My position is under the Director of First Year Experience, and Persistence and Retention which allows me to have a wide perspective of Orientation, Transition, and Retention.
