Alyssa Bailey is a Junior at the W.P. Carey School of Business where she is majoring in Business Communications. She previously attended San Joaquin Delta College, a local community college, before transferring to Arizona State University in Fall of 2021.Alyssa has over three years of experience working as a barista for Starbucks Coffee Company. During her time with Starbucks, she dedicated her time to climbing up the company ladder and within her first year she became a trainer. Through this new role Alyssa was able to train new partners while also further developing her own capabilities. She learned how to lead partners through stressful situations, encourage others to overcome obstacles, and how to use her communication skills to adapt training materials to each partner. After successfully leading several partners through their training she used her new skills to become a supervisor before her third year with the company. As a supervisor Alyssa effectively led her team through shifts while maintaining the Starbucks mission and values. She was able to acquire new skills such as cash handling and providing outstanding customer service. Alyssa is currently working as an Associate for TJX Companies at a local Marshall’s. In her new position she is working towards acquiring new skills while developing her work experience.While Alyssa is attending business school, she is also working towards obtaining her Real Estate license. She hopes to use this license to start a career as a real estate agent while also utilizing her Business Degree to join her family business flipping houses as an entrepreneur.When Alyssa is not dedicating her time to her studies, she is spending time with her family watching movies, playing games, and having family dinners. She is looking forward to her annual family vacation to Aptos, California this summer.
