Lead the development of the Strong Families portfolio through planning and analysis including researching community needs, and identifying key investment opportunities, new programs, initiatives, partnerships and sources for external funding to drive achievement of goalsManage the intake, design and launch of new funds, grants and strategic programs: includes setting clear goals, scoping, process and communication needs and ongoing quality assurance and monitoring Evaluate existing programs and initiatives and make adjustments where neededProvide relevant and timely information and guidance to individual, family and institutional donors to facilitate giving, learning and engagement to meet their philanthropic goals and in support of the Foundation’s equity of opportunity goalsReview proposals, conduct site visits and develop funding recommendations for Strong Families, other Foundation grant programs and Foundation donorsCodify and analyze data, information, knowledge and learnings using Foundation tools and systemsSupervise direct report(s) and consultants. Develop and maintain standards for program and initiative design, launch, monitoring and evaluation, and partner with Community Intelligence team members to streamline processes and increase repeatability of programs and initiatives. Partner to develop the structure and process for managing community knowledge within the Foundation. Manage and monitor Community Intelligence requests for nonprofit interactions, external leadership and volunteer opportunities. Work closely with teams to assess and integrate new opportunites for work across the Foundation’s five Impact Areas.

The Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI), was founded on the belief that Habitat for Humanity could serve more families by adopting a holistic approach to partnering with neighborhoods and by expanding the housing products that we offer. NRI is designed so that participating affiliates serve more families by responding to community aspirations with an expanded array of products, services and partnerships, thereby reviving neighborhoods and enhancing the quality of life for all. In the three years that NRI has been in existence we have gone from 110 affiliates, serving 33% of the families served in the US, to today, when we have 223 affiliates serving 53% of the families served in the US. This growth in the program has demanded that this position have a more active role in NRI fundraising, managing a growing staff, being responsible for partnerships and representing NRI with affiliates. The following are specific responsibilities expected of the person in this position today:1. Serve as NRI Subject Matter Expert with HFHI's Resource Development department to assist in raising funds.2. Contributes to the setting of NRI goals and strategies and execution thereof.3. Project manage all non-governmental funds that NRI receives4. Project manages internal and external groups that consult on NRI design (such as the NRI management team, the Affiliate taskforce-a subset of the Affiliate Enhancement committee of the US Council, the NRI design team, and the NRI external consultants)5. Serve as program designer for new programs.6. Supervise at least 2 staff designing and implementing Aging in Place and Bank of America's REO program7. NRI trainer at SSO conferences and HFHI learning events

• Identified best practices related to the prevention of youth crime and violence, and preventing child abuse and neglect. Focus areas included dropout prevention, youth mentoring, restorative justice, bullying prevention, early childhood education and youth violence prevention.• Led a grant making program for over 100 funded programs • Worked with a statutory board to develop and implement policy decisions• Managed budget and reporting processes for a $5.4 million budget• Developed and provided training and technical assistance to over 100 funded programs• Oversaw and guided a statewide program evaluation process• Worked collaboratively with other programs and state agencies to develop uniform processes and resources for communities receiving state and federal dollars for youth programming

Developed and implemented a Government Relations plan including the following:• Conducted training and education of community partners, board and staff related to Government Relations activities• Produced a legislative agenda. In 2007, MHUW endorsed seven pieces of legislation; five were signed into law, one was postponed indefinitely and one was vetoed• Supervised part-time contract lobbyist• Coordinated efforts of 14 Colorado United Ways to develop a statewide policy agenda focusing on early childhood education and development. Done as part of a national effort of United Ways, and included engaging business leaders in policy efforts• Staffed board-level committee
