My name is Alyssa Coleman and I am a Chicago Posse Scholar at Pomona College studying computer science. I have an insatiable passion for technology and I am ecstatic to break into tech roles that enable me to be creative and involved in the innovations of the future. When I am recruited, I plan to continue cultivating creativity in both myself and the company I join. I want to utilize my experience to open doors for people of color through mentorship through the knowledge/confidence gap that is fueled by our underprivileged backgrounds, of which is extremely noticeable in tech spaces. This past summer, I gained experience in full stack development at CME Group. I enjoyed seeing my work come to life on the computer screen and lighten the migration workload of the client-facing web application for my team. I am a very artistically-driven person so, when I am not solving a coding problem, I am producing a song, crocheting a hat, or reading a horror novel.
