I completed a master's thesis on harmful algal blooms at Lake Fayetteville with the Arkansas Water Resources Center. With this experience I served as a Graduate Research Assistant and performed various laboratory duties including: creating chemical reagents for analysis, operating and maintaining a Skalar San++ Segmented Flow Wet Chemistry Auto Analyzer, and performing quality checks of samples according to laboratory quality assurance standards.

I completed a research project under the National Science Foundation's Research Experience for Undergraduates. The project focused on the use of spent organic substrates as a carbon source for the aerobic denitrification of hydroponic wastewater. I collected water samples every day for twenty days to be analyzed for various nutrients. I set up experiments to test different variables that influenced the digestion process. Finally, I presented a research poster at the 2019 Arkansas Water Resource Center Water Research Conference.

I served as a mentor for incoming honors freshmen. In this role I provided one-on-one mentoring for a group of nine mentees. I facilitated group discussions and coordinated with other mentors. I also completed the Intercultural Diversity Index.

I completed a research project focused on tomato root colonization by a soil fungus. I learned techniques including: cell culturing, microscopy, and staining root hairs. I presented the results in a video presentation format at the 2018 Annual Students of Agronomy, Soil, and Environmental Sciences (SASES) meeting and placed first.

Hourly laboratory worker in the Altheimer Lab, part of the Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences and the Division of Agriculture of the University of Arkansas. Organized more than 1,000 samples. Followed laboratory experimental protocols regarding plant tissue grinding and weighing.
