I’m constantly designing outside of school. This includes frequently redesigning the layout of my apartment for optimal feng shui. I am so fascinated with interior design and creating spaces conducive to inspiration, creativity, flow, and life. If my friends and family let me, I help them design and move-around their spaces as well. I’m constantly observing and organizing spaces that can serve us better. In the same way, my design approach centers accessibility, function, and goal-oriented procedures. My goal is to design stunning, accessible, refreshing, and moving solutions to everyday problems. I enjoy research and collecting first-person accounts. I plan to read more books this year, and each year after that. Though I love to talk, there is much to be learned in silence. My family and friends would probably describe me as a yapper because when we go out, I’m constantly making connections with strangers and talking to folks about whatever-may-be. It’s become increasingly important to me to build community as a Black, queer, nonbinary femme in the deep south. Every day, I’m finding more and more the valuable connections we make lead to a bountiful, and abundant life where we share knowledge and joy through many skills and media. In my spare time you could find me knitting, crocheting, painting, singing karaoke on my sofa at home by myself, cuddling my cat, Phoebe, or scrolling Pinterest. As a designer, my current interests are illustration, typography, and publication design. I have much experience and success working with clients one-on-one as a custom framer to design solutions for their artwork. The best part was always their reaction when unwrapping the final work and showing them our collaborative design come to life.
