I am an alumna of the University of Maryland, College Park. While there, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a concentration in Social Stratification, and a Joint Minor in Black Women's Studies. I currently work as a Human Resources Specialist within the Operations Division of the Human Resources Office at the United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) in Washington, DC. My duties range within the human resources realm to include Recruitment, Staffing, Classification and Onboarding. Prior to joining USAGM, I worked as a Management Analyst for the Defense Acquisition University (Department of Defense) in Fort Belvoir, VA. My duties included full-cycle recruitment, placement and staffing for all employees within the agency. I also worked to process all on-the-spot and time off awards. Prior to working at DAU, I worked for FEMA as a Human Resources Specialist in June 2017, where I worked on the Stafford Act Staffing - Reservist Team within the Talent Acquisition Division of the Office of the Chief Component Human Capital Officer at FEMA Headquarters located in Washington, DC. In my role I managed the end-to-end processing for new hires, including creating and posting JOAs, qualifying resumes, assigning, issuing and managing certificates, extending tentative job offers and final job offers, coding SF-52 forms and on-boarding.Prior to joining FEMA, I worked on the campus recruiting team at FTI Consulting in New York City. I joined the firm in August 2015. While working for FTI Consulting, I recruited entry-level consultants and summer interns for the firm's New York, New Jersey, Boston, Virginia and Washington, DC offices.
