• Successfully identified a method of slowing phase separation to obtain a scaffold of a bicontinuous structure by polymerizing a bicontinuous intraphase jammed emulsion gel • Performed experiments on a tensiometer and a rheometer to find the surface tension and viscoelastic energy of the system• Imaged the change in domain size of the bicontinuous structure through confocal microscopy

As a Campus Representative, I speak to many people from a variety of backgrounds. Thus, I have received training on how to be an effective leader since I am often one of the first impressions visitors get of my University. From this position, I have learned how to clearly communicate and speak to a group of people as well as how to tailor speeches to what a particular group is interested in.

In this internship, I worked with two pieces of technology to optimize a method of extracting essential oils, learned technical writing by creating my own standard operating procedure, and communicated technical concepts to a wide audience through a formal presentation.

4.0 Club is a club designed to be a group study space where students can receive help in order to be successful. I am one of the student mentors/tutors so when someone has a question, they can ask me. I am mostly the tutor for chemistry, but have also helped with MATLAB and calculus.

During this time, I mentored four groups of 10-25 students on various engineering projects including a smart doorbell, vending machine, magic mirror, and arcade system. This position allowed me to gain experience through helping students learn the basics of micro-computing on the Raspberry Pi, coding in Python, computer aided design on SolidWorks, and fabrication on 3D printers and laser cutters. I also had the opportunity to teach incoming UC Irvine freshman parts of the chemistry course they would be taking their first quarter.
