The California Appellate Project in San Francisco (CAP-SF) is a non-profit corporation established by the State Bar of California in 1983 as a legal resource center to implement the constitutional right to counsel for indigent persons facing execution. CAP serves the largest population of condemned individuals in the country and is funded primarily by a contract with the Judicial Council of California.

As a Senior Consultant at the firm, Ms. Sheets worked on developing her subject matter expertise (SME) on change management for the Veterans Health Administration. She specifically worked on a high-visibility community health project that encompassed training and education, change management, and strategic communications for the client. Ms. Sheets also gained valuable experience with large-scale government event planning.

Ms. Sheets worked as a Consultant on the Civil Health account in the Civil Commercial Group at Booz Allen Hamilton, a strategy and technology management consulting firm based in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Ms. Sheets worked on various proposals and projects supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs, one of Booz Allen's largest civil health clients. A team player in the Civil Health group, Ms. Sheets's skills range from health policy analysis and report writing and review, training and education, and strategic communications to health data management and program management support. Ms. Sheets also wrote for an internal health news circulation within Booz Allen's Civil Health group, and volunteered her time as the administrative point-person for organizing and coordinating logistics of her administrative team's monthly in-person meetings.

Ms. Sheets was trained in mentoring theory through Curricular Unit Support Program (2 credits) during Spring 2012 semester. She was employed by SAW Center to work with staff of 40+ students. Ms. Sheets assisted Mount Holyoke students with writing assignments, papers, speeches and debates for classes across multiple disciplines in the Humanities, Social Sciences, as well as projects in basic Spanish. During her junior year, Ms. Sheets was designated a "speaking specialist" mentor, and worked most often with students on presentations and oral projects. She worked primarily with ESL (English as a second language) international students.

Ms. Sheets conducted research on federal legislation pertinent to the food justice movement (namely the Farm Bill, GIPSA, and the 2015 Child Nutrition Act Reauthorization). She also created information briefs on the Child Nutrition Act Reauthorization (CNR) and the Trans-pacific Partnership (TPP). Additionally, she participated in national policy calls through "GOAT," a collaborative space for 60+ national food policy and justice grassroots organizations and nonprofits to form agendas for upcoming policy strategies. Ms. Sheets also created a survey which was distributed to all GOAT participants to determine policy priorities for the 2014 agenda.

Sahyog Trust is a human rights and social justice legal advocacy organization. The Trust works on 20-30 pro bono court cases per month, each varying in type and level of difficulty. These cases are often fought against the Indian government in order to petition for legal reform to combat inequality. Ms. Sheets generated a 10-page working document and accompanying PowerPoint comparing rape laws in India to that of the U.S. She also conducted field work with the rest of the Sahyog Team in Latur, Central India

Ms. Sheets created government documents known as dispositions, public records of the probable cause determinations of complaints processed by the Commission. She also interpreted the law with counseling of enforcement supervisors at both the state and federal level (specifically M.G.L. c. 151B (4), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, ADA, and the ADEA as amended in 1990,) to determine probable cause of discrimination for each assigned case file. Additionally, Ms. Sheets conducted complaint intakes during weekly intake shift, and met with complainants face-to-face and helped them draft/file complaints with the Commission.
