As a health psychologist with the Cardiac Behavioral Medicine team, I am responsible for advanced heart failure pre-surgical psychosocial evaluations for transplant and mechanical circulatory support (VAD) candidates. I work with patients with advanced heart failure, who require cardiac surgery, and/or other cardiac conditions to assess and address psychosocial risk factors such as stress, mood issues, eating behaviors, and treatment adherence. I work with both inpatients and outpatients and support individuals who are struggling with mood or adjustment post-operatively, or who are going through and/or adjusting to advanced heart failure treatments.
