During my time in this research lab, I assisted in creating a Qualtrics survey to gain insight into the experiences of adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) with using and understanding nonverbal communication (such as eye contact and body language, for example). While drafting the survey, other researchers and I had the opportunity to work with a local group of autistic adults who helped us to ensure all study materials are both anti-ableist and accessible to the autism community. Being a member of this research lab was a wonderful opportunity and helped me realize that I want to pursue a career in clinical psychology as both a clinician and a researcher.I initially joined this research study as part of the InterAction Lab at the University of the Sciences.

As an Orientation Leader I assisted university personnel in welcoming approximately 300-400 incoming first-year students to the University of the Sciences. I helped ease the transition from high school to college, for both students and parents. I worked closely with a group of approximately 20 incoming students to guide them around campus to engage in ice-breaker activities and attend important campus safety presentations.
