I have worked extensively with PCI 2.1, Intel P6, IA-64, Merced, VXI/VME bus and other buses.Hardware. The hardware designs I have completed include: Boards for waveform monitors including MPC-860/823, video controller, 100base-T ethernet, PCI, PLDs and FPGAs. High Speed Sequencer Board design with a MPC-860 Power PC and Multiple FPGA’s, Chip set design including PCI and RAM for an Intel Pentium Processor using VHDL, Test Benchs/ASIC using Verilog, Microprocessor and Frequency counter for the 2710 spectrum analyzer; GPIB and RS-232 COMM Packs for the 1240 Logic analyzer; Front end processor for the IEEE- 802.3 and ethernet networking protocols; Multibus interface, Cable Tester, Queuing system, display controllers and various others.Software. I support the top down approach to software development whenever possible. Much of my experience is with the use of structured design and modular software.I have extensive experience in using C on UNIX based as well as PC based systems and various assembly languages.I have extensive experience with communications protocols including PCI Bus, TCP/IP, Ethernet, ISO/OSI, IEEE-802.3, GPIB and RS-232.Unix administrator with Solaris 2.5 and 2.6, Linux 5.2. I have experience in tools installation and setup including SVN and Perl.Management. I have successfully led a team of software engineers that developed the firmware for the 2710 spectrum analyzer. I have also managed the timer, displays, and queuing/voting system projects to completion and installation at the customer site.Leadership. As a instructor I have developed the capability to present ideas to others in a way that they are willing to accept.Other. I hold a Technician Class Amateur Radio License.Specialties: Instructor. I teach digital systems design lecture and lab to students of OIT. Also, I teach VHDL, Verilog, PCI Bus, Pentium Pro Bus, Perl and other classes to engineers on an as needed basis. Most recently, I have presented several short seminars to Intel employees on Intel developed buses. I have taught courses on IC test systems for customers of Tektronix.
