Executive Assistant To Chief Executive Officer

Working in the Executive Office, I helped coordinate the CEO's executive-level operations and partnerships – working across departments, to ensure everything is running smoothly, and striving for the best practise in compliance.I was the organisation's Africa Programmes Officer – solely managing a diverse portfolio of Africa projects, with an annual budget over £2mil. I successfully administering aid and development programmes in Kenya, Somaliland, Gambia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Togo, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. I also acted as Emergency Response Co-ordinator, leading on the implementation of aid during natural disasters in India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Pakistan. I had worked for this NGO for several years, in various capacities (in-line with diverse business needs) and through several role progressions: I started as the sole Fundraising officer and co-ordinator for Birmingham and the Midlands. Through the implementation of new procedures and strategies, I exceeded set targets and played a key role in growing the department and establishing a new Birmingham office.I then worked within Communications, reviewing public relations feedback projects, organising press releases and assisted in advertising campaigns. I also performed copywriting and editorial tasks - producing promotional materials and making TV appearances on their behalf. I managed the Social Media accounts – coordinating content and promoting their work. I was, on various occasions, entrusted as acting Communications Manager – implementing the comms for various international relief campaigns. It was after this that I stepped in as Africa programmes officer.I had the opportunity to gain valuable field experience: Administering aid to Rohingya refugees in India; Leading AKF's representation at AidEx Nairobi in Kenya; AidEx Brussels in Belgium; BOND Conference, Westminster – and numerous high-profile aid sector events. I was also the Foundation's ICO-designated Data Protection Lead.
