As the Chief Operating Officer at Equi, I play a central role in driving the operational and strategic leadership of the think tank. I manage the organisations research teams, and my work also involves overseeing daily operations, managing financial sustainability, leading human resources, and ensuring the smooth delivery of key projects and initiatives. I also lead on communications, stakeholder engagement, and the development of internal systems to manage workstreams and improve efficiency. Collaborating with the Managing Director and the Board, I contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans that align with Equi’s mission: to advance ethically-driven public policy for the benefit of all, informed by the insights and experiences of British Muslims. I am excited to contribute to this mission, leading a talented team to create impactful change across the UK.

Madad UK (powered by ZeroPA) is a registered charity which provides an alternative to predatory payday lending, by partnering to offer entirely interest-free loans (from ZeroPA) for household essentials, to some of the most vulnerable and financially disadvantaged in the UK. ZeroPA, a social impact lender, offers financial education and practical tools to help its users stay afloat in times of financial hardship. With my fellow Trustee Board members, I support the charity's governance, development and delivery.

The Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West (BOB) Integrated Care Board (ICB) is a statutory NHS organisation that plans and delivers the integrated care system across BOB. With a budget of over £2.7 billion, we oversee the provision of NHS services for nearly two million people.As Business Manager to the Chair at BOB ICB, I helped the Chair, Director of Governance and Executive in leading the region’s NHS Integrated Health System. I delivered strategic, managerial, and administrative support services. I helped implement the organisation’s business plan, governance duties, corporate duties, and co-ordinate training and development activities though Co-Chairing the Staff Diverse Ability Network (Disability Network). I oversaw team budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation. I was the principal coordinator of Board meetings, managing all the logistics of the organisation’s Board meeting cycles, as well as additional support on Board sub-committees.I made it an aim to continuously identify opportunities for business improvement, and maintain strong relationships with a diversity of stakeholders across government, local government and the third sector – providing administrative and project management support. I also provided specialist advice and guidance, through research and development activities and strategic planning. My role ensured continuity and adaptability in our services, and helped deliver on BOB ICB’s purpose – of ensuring better health and wellbeing outcomes for the region’s residents.

I worked closely with the Chief Executive and Chief of Staff in the execution of Barnardo's operations, strategy, governance and major stakeholder management at Barnardo's. From working with key internal stakeholders, co-ordinating across departments and liaising with the Board of Trustees – to building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders within the charity sector, civil service, philanthropy, government and local/national politics – my role involved helping the Chief Executive keep their finger on the pulse, in a time of unprecedented global change and challenge. I helped steer the charity through the global pandemic and subsequent challenge, bringing innovative solutions to complex problems and proactively leveraging new opportunities for supporting some of the UK's most vulnerable people.I ensured the the executive received high quality, effective and consistent support – helping ensure things were running smoothly, at the UK's largest Children's charity – with around 20,000 people (employees + volunteers) and a footprint reaching over 358,000 of the UK's most vulnerable children, young people and families/carers at the time. I truly enjoyed my time at Barnardo's and built professional relationships which I shall treasure.

Working in the Executive Office, I helped coordinate the CEO's executive-level operations and partnerships – working across departments, to ensure everything is running smoothly, and striving for the best practise in compliance.I was the organisation's Africa Programmes Officer – solely managing a diverse portfolio of Africa projects, with an annual budget over £2mil. I successfully administering aid and development programmes in Kenya, Somaliland, Gambia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Togo, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. I also acted as Emergency Response Co-ordinator, leading on the implementation of aid during natural disasters in India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Pakistan. I had worked for this NGO for several years, in various capacities (in-line with diverse business needs) and through several role progressions: I started as the sole Fundraising officer and co-ordinator for Birmingham and the Midlands. Through the implementation of new procedures and strategies, I exceeded set targets and played a key role in growing the department and establishing a new Birmingham office.I then worked within Communications, reviewing public relations feedback projects, organising press releases and assisted in advertising campaigns. I also performed copywriting and editorial tasks - producing promotional materials and making TV appearances on their behalf. I managed the Social Media accounts – coordinating content and promoting their work. I was, on various occasions, entrusted as acting Communications Manager – implementing the comms for various international relief campaigns. It was after this that I stepped in as Africa programmes officer.I had the opportunity to gain valuable field experience: Administering aid to Rohingya refugees in India; Leading AKF's representation at AidEx Nairobi in Kenya; AidEx Brussels in Belgium; BOND Conference, Westminster – and numerous high-profile aid sector events. I was also the Foundation's ICO-designated Data Protection Lead.

Responsible for managing diaries and scheduling appointments for Psychiatrists in the private sector. Duties included reviewing patient information records, ensuring they were updated, and adhering to all confidentiality rules. I also worked with law firms in order to help write Psychiatric and legal reports, and co-ordinated research tasks within the medical and medico-legal fields.
