My passion for mathematics goes back to when I was a little kid. From squaring 2-digit numbers in my head to memorizing over 500 digits of pi in elementary and middle school, mathematics has been an important part of who I am, and I strive for that to continue to be a part of my professional identity moving forward.In high school, I really started getting into more volunteer opportunities where I was able to become a role model for the younger generation by enabling compassion and the ability to help others inside of them. I was able to volunteer at my religious center every Saturday and helped out others as much as I could in that time.Once I combined mathematics and volunteering together, I decided on actuarial science as the field that I want to pursue my future in. In this field, we use our knowledge of mathematics to be able to shape the lives of those we serve. The main thing that stands out to me is that clients, not metrics, are the priority.
