I worked with some projects with Adam, and was impressed by his solid engineering ability. He was able to break down the complex issue to small pieces and deliver with high quality. For example, we worked together on a project called 'recon batch refresh' which needs to write several data pipelines to bring a lot of financial data from Hive table to mySql table. Adam finished this with a high performance solution and did the solid data validation check in his pipelines, which guaranteed this project deliver very smoothly. b. Adam could analyze the issue and pinpoint the problem very quickly, and then made the best action to solve the problem by given a very short time. During finance close period, every time team faced data issue (data inconsistence / pipeline broken, etc), there were countless times that Adam stood out and solve critical problems for users. I was very comfortable and confident when Adam stepped in and knew those questions can be fixed quickly. c. Adam has very sold data engineering skills for example SQL, Presto SQL. He analyzed and taught me which SQL function should be used in my case; guided me how to write CREATE VIEW in Presto Query, etc. 2. I was impressed and inspired by his attitude toward the job: a. He was very responsible and proactive to address the issues, as I mentioned above, he would love to help team to address the issues quickly to unblock users during close period. Also he was able to write a very clear and concise words to explain what is the root cause for this issue and how long he can fix the issue under each ticket to make sure users / team are at the same page with him, which impressed me well. b. He was very nice and patient to his co-workers. Not just me feeling this way, a lot of people in the team from engineer to accounting manager, all agreed this. Having ability to work well with people from different personalities and cultures and getting sincerely liked by each person is a valuable quality. Therefore I was very happy to have chance to work with Adam these 2 years, and I believe any people worked with him before and will work with him in the future feel / will feel lucky to have him."
