I always believed growing up that I was destined to be a Jedi.I thought I had the skills: patience, objectivity, respect for hard work, and—most importantly—the ability to mimic the sound of a lightsaber. At 10, I was on track to defeat the Galactic Empire.Then in the late '90s, my tech-savvy dad introduced me to the world of the internet with our first 56k dial-up modem. He even sent me my first email so I could hear AOL say, “You’ve got mail!” That moment left a lasting impression...Fast forward 25 years, and while I didn’t become a Jedi, I did become an IT geek, channeling the Force in a different way. Now, with over a decade of experience in IT, I’m proud to be the IT Director for a leading Fitness and Wellbeing Group. I lead the charge in aligning technology with business goals, ensuring systems function seamlessly and enhance the wellbeing of our employees and customers.My journey started like many others—resetting passwords as an apprentice on a busy service desk. But that was just the beginning. I quickly progressed into IT consultancy, working across multiple sectors and supporting a diverse range of stakeholders, each with unique challenges. I learned that IT, when managed strategically and developed properly, can transform businesses. It's the Force that drives them forward.In my current role, I lead digital transformation, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure our technology platforms support both staff and customers. Whether it’s implementing systems, managing projects, or troubleshooting issues, I’m passionate about making technology an enabler, not an obstacle.I might wear a Back to the Future t-shirt on casual Fridays, but I pride myself on being approachable and speaking plain English—not in ones and zeros. I encourage everyone to come talk to me, share ideas, or highlight areas for improvement.
