Overall management of Lambeth’s internal apprenticeship programme, tasked with readying the Council for the apprenticeship levy and public sector apprenticeship target. I increased the number of apprentices in the Council from 5 to 17 and integrated a discrete housing apprenticeship programme into the wider scheme.I streamlined our recruitment process, reducing the delay between offer and start and simplifying the application process. I set up quarterly forums for apprentices and managers to increase retention and share best practice. I started a mentoring network for apprentices to support them better. I implemented closer, regular monitoring of training provision and progress to make sure that apprentices achieve their qualification and have a good learning experience. In-house expert on apprenticeships: I lead on responding to policy changes in apprenticeships and consult with external businesses on how they can best adapt to those changes. Create and deliver engagement campaigns for external businesses: I ran two campaigns in 2016, engaging over 100 businesses, and resulting in over 30 commitments to hire apprentices.Manage a team of 3 apprentice advisors and account managers.

I engage and work with businesses in and around Hackney to help them use London Borough of Hackney's in-house recruitment service, Ways into Work. Ways into Work is a free, full service recruitment programme run by the Council to help Hackney residents get into work and training, specialising in entry to mid-level roles.I work with employers to map out their recruitment needs, create person specs and job descriptions, plan the recruitment campaign, and monitor and feedback on how it is progressing, making changes to reflect how the employer feels it is working.

I work with partners (Olympic Delivery Authority, London Organising Committee, BBC, etc) across Hackney and London to create opportunities for local people. My focus is on the creation of Olympic-related jobs and work experience placements for people living in Hackney, through building links with large employers and developing local employment schemes.I also help Hackney businesses access new contracts, Olympic and otherwise. I manage a £300K business advice and networking contract, delivered by a local business support organisation. I analyse central Government strategies and policies which relate to business, enterprise or employment, particularly those with an Olympic and Paralympic focus.

I worked in Human Resources in LOCOG, alongside onsite recruiters Adecco and in house recruitment for the Functional Areas (transport, accreditation, etc). LOCOG have recruited 7000 direct employees, and their contractors have a workforce of over 100,000 Gamestime roles.I worked with LOCOG contractors CleanEvent, creativevents and BaxterStorey to facilitate the recruitment of over 4000 temporary employees, and was the employment representative in LOCOG for the London Borough of Hackney.I organised and participated in attraction events, both in Hackney and across London, presenting and speaking in schools, sixth forms, colleges, churches, job fairs and community centres. I facilitated interview and recruitment days with LOCOG contractors, ensuring that each day was a success. I worked with local providers to ensure they were submitted high quality candidates to my contractors. I was seconded to LOCOG four days a week from London Borough of Hackney, and continued my work for Hackney throughout.
