I increased the number of apprentices in the Council from 5 to 17 and integrated a discrete housing apprenticeship programme into the wider scheme.I streamlined our recruitment process, reducing the delay between offer and start and simplifying the application process. I set up quarterly forums for apprentices and managers to increase retention and share best practice. I started a mentoring network for apprentices to support them better. I implemented closer, regular monitoring of training provision and progress to make sure that apprentices achieve their qualification and have a good learning experience. In-house expert on apprenticeships: I lead on responding to policy changes in apprenticeships and consult with external businesses on how they can best adapt to those changes. Create and deliver engagement campaigns for external businesses: I ran two campaigns in 2016, engaging over 100 businesses, and resulting in over 30 commitments to hire apprentices.Manage a team of 3 apprentice advisors and account managers. -
