I set up Saltegy in part to help apprenticeship training providers maximise their chances of supplying to the UK public sector. I've helped businesses win over £10 million of public sector apprenticeship funding from organisations like Cabinet Office, GMCA, Hackney Council, London Ambulance Service and many more. I support sales teams to engage more effectively with public sector clients, helping to build relationships and gain intelligence which helps seal the winning bid. Of all the people who start working in the public sector each year, more than 1 in 10 are apprentices. There are now over 100,000 apprentices based in the NHS, local authorities, the Armed Forces and the Civil Service. The only way to supply public sector apprenticeship training in volume is through bids and tenders.I love creating value for your organisation, whether that's writing and submitting bids, setting up bidding systems, supporting you to engage partners and advising on the best approach to build your profile with potential customers. I increased the number of apprentices in the Council from 5 to 17 and integrated a discrete housing apprenticeship programme into the wider scheme.I streamlined our recruitment process, reducing the delay between offer and start and simplifying the application process. I set up quarterly forums for apprentices and managers to increase retention and share best practice. I started a mentoring network for apprentices to support them better. I implemented closer, regular monitoring of training provision and progress to make sure that apprentices achieve their qualification and have a good learning experience. In-house expert on apprenticeships: I lead on responding to policy changes in apprenticeships and consult with external businesses on how they can best adapt to those changes. Create and deliver engagement campaigns for external businesses: I ran two campaigns in 2016, engaging over 100 businesses, and resulting in over 30 commitments to hire apprentices.Manage a team of 3 apprentice advisors and account managers.
