Ensuring compliance to the ISO 14001, company standards, legal requirements.•Facilitating supervisor task briefings prior to work commencing and ensuring that the work area does not present any further risk that has not been identified.•Conduct training sessions for work specific risks, such as, working at heights.•Weekly general physical inspections of the site, to report any problems and close out any findings.•Investigate incidents and near misses to identify the root causes and prevent any re-occurrence.•Control the delivery and issuing of personal protective equipment.•Ensure that all new staff are inducted properly and records are kept of those inductions.•Establish weekly statistics and charts to show performance of the past months and present.•Conduct specific technical inspections to ensure that equipment in use is up to standard.•Liaise with employees and contractors to keep professional and pleasant working relationships.•Ensure that current control measures are effective. If issues are raised, the control measures will be reviewed to ensure future reliability.•Research and development on the latest technology available to ensure continuous improvement.
