Hired to aid the museum in implementing the welcoming, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in the 2019 strategic plan. With this goal, I performed the following tasks:- Create a rubric based on the 2019 HMSC Strategic Plan for evaluating current strategies for audience development welcoming and inclusivity initiatives- Audit internal departments according to this rubric and identify new strategies to help the museum reach its goals from the 2019 Strategic Plan- Work individually with museum education staff to help expand the audience reach of planned events and programs through social media and in-person techniques

With the Autumn (…Nothing Personal) installation, I helped to bring audiences and stakeholders to the project through social media engagement and public programming initiatives that activate the space. Program highlights included:- Inaugural Latinx Student Convocation - Pre-Texts Workshop with Cultural Agents- Portraits by Khabeer Sultan, Response to Autumn (…Nothing Personal)- Bliss, a lecturance by Josefina Baez- Our Stories, Our Space: Writings on Migration, Citizenship, and Belonging, with the Cambridge Community Foundation

Plan and implement public events for Harvard affiliates and Boston citizens in support of art installation Autumn (...Nothing Personal) by Teresita Fernandez, including:- Producing Public Events with the Committee on Ethnicity, Migration, Rights, February 2018- Public Programs Skill-Building Workshop with the Harvard Committee on the Arts, March 2018- Harvard Ethnic Studies Wikiathon, November 2018- Manage the partnership between the Committee on Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights and the Harvard Committee on the Arts- Document the installation process and all planned eventsCreate and manage the digital exhibit of the installation, research, and events

Research assistant to Teresita Fernandez during the early stages of Autumn (...Nothing Personal). My responsibilities included:- Assisted Fernandez in teaching a January-term workshop titled Arts, Imagination, Democracy: Public Arts in Practice- Performed archival research on topics that interest the artist as she prepared for an installation in the Harvard Yard- Presented archival research to Fernandez as well as faculty and administrators to demonstrate the scope of the project

Researching the history of Chicano activism at the George Washington University, from 1960 to the present. My final project will place these points of activism and awareness on an interactive timeline, creating a digital exhibit that shows the progress of the Chicano movement to Washington DC.
