My responsibilities also include effective coordination of multiple projects and people, and mentoring younger scientists. The scope of the research is broad and includes characterization of material properties under extreme conditions of temperature and pressure for material applications, geophysical and planetary sciences and the seek of better energy sources through the inertial fusion confinement project. Postdoctoral Researcher Staff Memeber
My activity is focused in research projects related to high-energy-density (HED) physics, astrophysics and planetary science. I actively participate in the performance of ultrafast-laser heating and shock wave experiments to explore material properties (e.g.: transport, electronic,...) of matter in extreme conditions.
Phd In Condensed Matter Physics
During my PhD I worked with several heavy fermion systems in order to characterize and understand their unique phenomena like superconductivity and magnetic phase transitions when these systems are cooled down to very low temperatures, < 1 Kelvin, and submit to high pressures using diamond anvil cells. I setup a pressure in-situ device in a dilution cryostat that greatly improved the performance and execution of such challenging experiments.
