I am a Syrian-American human rights advocate who is passionate about victim-centric for human rights violations and atrocity crimes. I am a third-year law student at American University Washington College of Law, where I focus on international criminal law, international humanitarian law, and transitional justice. At WCL, I serve as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Human Rights Brief.I also hold a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. While pursuing that degree, I focused my studies on international justice, conflict resolution, and international negotiations. At Fletcher, I was the co-chair of the annual Decolonizing International Relations conference and co-chair of the Humanitarian Action Society. My graduate capstone, for which I conducted original research, is entitled: Delayed Justice: The Case of the 1982 Hama Massacre, an Argument in Favor of Establishing a Truth Commission. My work experiences have centered around human rights and advocating for victims' justice. I have experience conducting legal research, producing written analysis, and leading advocacy campaigns. After law school, I hope to become a human rights lawyer.
