I work with product teams, advise leaders, and build frameworks for data products and data collaborations. My goal is to increase civil society’s capacity for the effective and responsible use of data. This capacity building requires people, process, governance and infrastructure -- I consider and integrate each of these elements in my work. My project and experience reflects this goal and my interests in climate change and social justice. Some highlights include: ‣ Worked with Rockefeller Foundation to develop and support data products and strategy for their grantees and partners. ‣ Led a team to design, develop and pilot a peer-to-peer energy trading in South Australia, integrating solar, battery and smart meters with a simple app and an agent-based marketplace. ‣ Led a team at The Data Guild to design and champion a platform for clinical trials to address stagnation and vendor lock-in within compliance and regulatory constraints. ‣ Helped US public policy think tank to define objectives and roadmaps for a multi-stakeholder initiative that advances public discourse surrounding property rights insecurity and loss in the United States. ‣ Worked with a local county justice department to develop governance and infrastructure for a data system that provides insights on recidivism. ‣ Developed implementation strategies and proofs-of-concept for products utilizing machine learning with differential privacy (DP) for successful startup.‣ I founded the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of DataKind (datakind.org) and helped develop sustainable networks and processes.
