Senior Sales Executive
As a Senior Sales Executive I had the privilege of working alongside medical providers across various specializations to communicate new research findings, train their staffs on effective specimen collection and interpretation of test results, and deepen my knowledge of infectious diseases. Throughout various and consistent clinical trainings and webinars, I was able to stay up to date with the latest research and technology in the medical industry, particularly in the areas of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Vector-Borne Diseases, Pediatrics, and Genetics.
Research Specialist
In my role a Research Specialist I have gained a wealth of knowledge that spans many disciplines. I have standardized SOPs through quality control experiments, obtained a thorough understanding of HIPAA, worked with LIMS systems, and have been trained on various experimental techniques and assays. In addition, I have assisted with project management of various research studies, trained new team members, served as a team lead, and optimized the on-boarding process for the Immune Health team. This position has allowed me to observe and take part in the research process from start to finish, including but not limited to IRB development, clinical coordination, sample processing, experimentation, data analysis, and the publishing of results. Lastly, I have refined my communication, leadership, problem solving, and time management skills.
Server
As a server, I have further cultivated my customer service skills, as well as my communication and organizational skills. This opportunity has allowed me to gain a better understanding of how to be attentive and multitask. I was not only responsible for serving tables, but bussing tables, standing in as a hostess, providing customer service over the phone, and I even began learning to bartend. During my time at North Shore, I was able to practice strict guidelines to ensure our customers and staff stayed healthy, safe, and happy during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Facility Attendant - Campus Recreation
As a facility attendant, I provided customer service to Penn State students, staff, and community members in multiple recreation facilities on Penn State's campus. In addition to customer service, facility attendants maintain the cleanliness of the recreation equipment, and function as first responders in situations that necessitate First Aid, CPR, or AED. Through this position I was able to renew my certifications in these areas. I also trained new employees on the job requirements, and was even asked to facilitate a department-wide training in 2019 at the Fall kickoff.
Thon Chair
THON is the world's largest student-run philanthropy, and each year Penn State students come together for a 46-hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon in February. The year-long fundraising efforts benefit the Four Diamonds, a fund that covers all medical expenses for children battling cancer at Penn State Children's Hospital at Hershey Medical Center. This year, Penn State students raised 11.6 million dollars, to contribute to an impressive overall total of $167 million raised in the 47 years THON has been in existence. In 2019-2020, I had the honor of serving as the primary THON Chair for Penn State's largest and only all-inclusive dance organization. In addition to serving as an executive member and assisting in the planning of two showcases, various social events, and managing the organization, I planned and facilitated all philanthropic efforts of over two hundred individuals, and headed a committee of four sub-chairs, each responsible for a different aspect of our organization's THON involvement. Together, we developed a website for our organization as a way to simplify the sharing of information and to encourage member participation. I was fortunate to inherit a pairing with a Four Diamonds family, to provide emotional support after their daughter recovered from a stage 4 Wilms tumor. In November of 2019, I took on an additional pairing, to support a second family, with a daughter currently in treatment for Rhabdomyosarcoma. After raising over $42,000, I was honored to accept the opportunity to culminate my efforts by completing the 46-hour marathon for my third and final time, but my first time completing the marathon on the floor.
Sales Associate
As a Sales Associate I provided customer service at the register, on the sales floor, and over the phone. I processed all transactions, including but not limited to purchases, returns, and online orders. After gaining experience, I trained new employees on the register and in the fitting room.
