As detailed below I have 27 years experience as a healthcare, for the past 15 years I have gained extensive experience within the respiratory field of medicine. I was secondary care lead for the stop smoking service within the hospitals based in the Bradford area, a busy inner city infirmary and a more rural hospital based in Airedale. I was responsible for forging links with teams within the hospitals, encouraging referrals. Seeing patients on the wards, commencing a treatment programme if not already initiated. Follow up on discharge was a large part of my role to ensure treatment continued post discharge. I also provided information/training sessions - ((presenting tailored made presentations for the audience from consultants through to HCA including specialities of physio dept for eg.) for all front line staff. I have collected 3 years of data proving I was making a difference.Publicity was a large part of my role also especially promoting campaigns such as No smoking day , Stoptober etc managing to get the backing of Showaddywaddy one year, This included preparing and giving interviews for local newspapers/ radio stations, aolong with co ordinating leaflet distribution.I organised an annual conference for 120 delegates arranging speakers and sponsors , with excellent feedback.I was also involved in developing a session to be delivered with in a regular pulmonary rehab programme which was then delivered by myself and other members of the team.I was project manager for a scheme to try and encourage pregnant smokers to attend a clinic, called 'Time 4 me' It was a funded role and evaluated externally , the course ran over 3 months at 4 venues with pamper style activities running along side a 'stop smoking' clinic.
