    I joined the Neural Engineering Laboratory at West Virginia University after acceptance into the SURE program (Summer Undergraduate Research Experience). The program provided the opportunity to be fully immersed in a research project through the guidance of my faculty mentor, Dr. Sergiy Yakovenko. My project focused on the development and testing of a real-time virtualized hand model with simulated dynamics and a surface EMG system (Myoband). I also worked on using VR tracking devices (HTC Vive) for motion capture to validate the system dynamics.I presented this research in a poster at the 2017 Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Meeting.
