At Mindful Mentors, we deliver a 45-minute, three-part lesson series in elementary school classrooms, teaching children effective strategies for managing their thoughts and emotions. Our aim is to fill the gap in mental health education within public school curricula. With the growing reliance on technology in classrooms and mounting evidence of its adverse effects on child development, our volunteers provide an alternative approach to help children connect with themselves, their surroundings, and each other. Inspired by the success of the Clean Air Ambassadors program, which I've been involved in expanding over the past three years, Mindful Mentors offers college students an excellent opportunity to engage with local elementary schools while providing teachers with free mindfulness resources for their classrooms. As the founder, I've developed the project-based curriculum, recruited and trained sixty dedicated volunteers, reached out to local teachers, conducted lessons in classrooms, and led weekly meetings with volunteers to meditate, prepare materials, and brainstorm ideas for club improvement. We've already delivered ten lessons, reaching nearly 100 students, with plans to complete 33 lessons and reach over 200 students by the end of this quarter. Currently, I'm hiring UCSB students to join my executive team next year as I pursue my master's in education at UCSB. I'm deeply grateful for the tremendous support we've received so far and eagerly anticipate the future growth of this organization.

As the Events Chair of UCSB’s Gauchos Go Green, I take the lead on organizing a variety of fundraisers such as thrift pop up events and band parties. The funds from these events are invested in projects to make our community more environmentally friendly.

As an intern under the Events Committee, I helped plan and manage various events and fundraisers to help make our community more sustainable.

As the lead Ambassador, I take on the responsibilities of developing new curriculum, hiring and training new interns, and working with teachers across Santa Barbara county to expand our program.

As an intern for the Clean Air Ambassadors Program, I work with elementary school teachers throughout Santa Barbara county to teach their students a three part environmental science lesson series. Our interactive lessons are designed to foster a love for nature, encouraging our youngest generation to grow into environmentally conscious individuals.
