With an education background in environmental sustainability, I am a conservationist at heart. I am passionate about practicing good stewardship in my community and our planet as a whole. It is important to me to educate others on how they, too, can reduce their impact on this Earth. It brings me tremendous fulfillment to be able to give back to my community. I have participated in various volunteer events and organizations including Americorps with whom I am currently serving a year-long term. I am serving under the Florida Conservation Corps through the Florida State Park Service where I am granted the opportunity to facilitate and participate in ample community outreach programs and events. Americorps also encourages its members to partake in as many training and certification programs as they can during their service. So far I have received my S-190(Intro to wildland fire behavior), S-130(Firefighter training), and L-180(Human Factors in the wildland fire service) certifications. I am so grateful to be apart of such a wonderful program and I am excited for the many opportunities that lie ahead.
