As an allergy specialist, I worked in numerous primary care medical offices throughout southeast, GA where I raised awareness within the office and promoted immunotherapy as a form of treatment for allergy sufferers. I notified providers of these patients and encouraged referral for allergy testing.I performed skin scratch allergy test on patients ages 2-70 to test for 48 environmental allergens specific to the geographical area. Correlated patient's results with the timing of their symptoms and educated them on immunotherapy. Using aseptic technique, I mixed immunotherapy medication based on patient formulary. Administered allergy shots to patients and educated them on how to perform this themselves. Also provided education on identifying allergic reactions and the actions to take, how and when to use an EpiPen, proper storage of medication, and when to schedule follow-up appointments.I left this position upon acceptance into Georgia Southern University's Graduate Program in order to further my education.
