I am a licensed clinical psychologist and researcher at an academic medical center. I study the brain basis of decision-making, as it relates to health related choices. Our lab has used tools like functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), to arrive at a better understanding of human decision-making: both descriptive and predictive. We study choices related to food decisions, exercise choices, and treatment adherence in both healthy populations and in chronic diseases like Cystic Fibrosis and Multiple Sclerosis. I have more than 75 peer-reviewed publications, many in top journals such as Nature Communications, Journal of Pediatrics, Psychological Science, Social and Affective Neuroscience, and Appetite.
