Responsible for researching and clearing all covers of reprint titles routed to the Creative Services group. I route requests through Atlassian’s project tracking tool, JIRA, for any relicensing or cover replacements. I am the secondary gatekeeper in Wiley’s Demand Management workflow. As the SME of our Global Permissions Database I meet weekly with our partners at IBM to discuss enhancements and fixes to the system. I provide the business knowledge and explain the needs of our database users with our technical leads. In addition, I consult with our business analyst and review her business requirement documents for clarity. I am the QA reviewer of any enhancement to the database that is deployed and I provide the final clearance for an enhancement to launch to production. With the growth of GPS, I record demos, create and distribute training materials, and conduct live training session to encourage archiving and properly licensing all third party content.

Track and prioritize the Photo Department responsibilities of behalf of the Educational division. Researched and licensed images for Business and Humanities titles. Project managed our offshore research and licensing engagement with Tata Consultancy Services. Trained and on-boarded our offshore team of four based out of Kolkata. Scheduled meetings every other day to ensure continued contact and constant development in understanding the work process. Distributed and validated the offshore work to ensure that the Photo Departments Service Level Agreements were met. Streamlined a new workflow with the Editorial group to centralize and track the Art Manuscript turnover process. Redesigned the Art Manuscript template to fit the needs of our editors and our compositors. Created swimlanes to provide visual context to route responsibilities via our coordinators to our on and offshore teams.

I confirm that acquired assets meet the terms of our standard agreement and ensure that vendors have received payment before titles release to the printer. I am responsible for verifying that all compliance is met by the Publisher’s deadline. I organize and track the current sale season's release to printer dates. I create compliance forms and input payment information to verify that we are legally in compliance. I am also responsible for processing invoices using JD Edwards and Ariba’s e-Procurement toolset.

Identified cover assets using various digital archives and asset management sites. Audited archived invoices. Identified images out of compliance and remediate those images to meet current agreement terms.

As a Quality Assurance Reviewer I work with a small team uploading XML and PDF content from CMS to a vendor shared FTP site. I create metadata spreadsheets and provide them to leading e-retailers such as Amazon (Kindle), Barnes & Noble (Nook), CafeScribe, Chegg, and VitalSource. I also upload and review PDFs on VitalSource Bookshelf. Among my responsibilities, I correspond with the production editors while tracking the completion of the ePDFs. Since pricing has become one of the major advantages of e-books, I have acquired detailed knowledge of how e-books are priced and the variances among several e-retailers. Briefly, I worked with tracking the video mapping documents for our enhanced e-books. On occasion, I review bug reports of VBK XMLs. In Adobe Acrobat X I review and edit bookmarks, add Cover JPEGs, edit page numbers, and avoid recto-verso errors by inserting pages.

Working in the Photo Department I was involved with purchase order and invoice processing, recording the rights granted from photo vendors, developing spreadsheets, and spotting and resolving technical invoice errors. For permission purposes I was also involved in researching and contacting photographers to ensure that they agreed to our standard rights line and the agreement terms.

After enrolling in an intensive composition studies course in which tutoring and editing methods were established, I was recommended by the Head of our English department to be one of a select staff of writing mentors to help undergraduate and graduate level students master their composition and grammar skills for their class papers. I was responsible for everything from reiterating the professors’ expectations, through editing students’ final thesis papers.
