As the supervisor I am responsible for training all new lab technicians, and monitoring the day-to-day activities of all lab technicians. I am responsible for ordering external testing as needed which includes generating POs. I monitor calibration dates, and perform most instrument calibrations and maintenance. I am able to make process and recipe changes outside of designated models.I have written work instructions for plant operations and aid in cross training control room operators in plant chemistry. I have a leadership role that is not exclusive to the lab, monitoring the process and making decisions when management is not available.

As a process chemist I have a thorough understanding of lab results and can interpret them and relate them to equipment issues throughout the plant. I have a thorough understanding of the facility and how facility operations affects the chemistry and how the chemistry can affect operations. I can detect potential process issues from lab results and offer adjustments based on acquired data.I analyze lab results to help predict how potential issues will affect downstream systems and overall quality of end products. I can set and change chemical recipes to help with production efficiency, and use data and make process adjustments as preventative measures. I have a leadership role in plant and process troubleshooting. Participated in Plant and Lab commissioning which included writing work instructions and SOPs, setting up and calibrating instrumentation, and writing safety protocols. Set up the chemical waste procedures, inventory, and chemical expiry monitoring.On a day-to-day basis I collect samples, test, and communicate results to operations. Sampling included raw materials, in-process fluids and final products in which I generate certificates of analysis. I perform instrument maintenance and calibrations as needed/scheduled and run tests to monitor instrument performance.
