Profile bio

About Amanda Charette

I am currently a Research Scientist 1 in the Division of Materials Management at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. I recently completed my Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF). Previously, I also received an M.S. in Environmental Chemistry, also from SUNY ESF, and two B.S. degrees in Forensic Science and Chemistry from the University of New Haven. The focus of my doctoral work was examining the areas where chemistry and environmental justice overlapped, so I primarily examined Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) facilities, their hazardous pollutant releases, and the communities they may effect in New York State. My main interest, and driving force behind pursuing this field, is helping others and making the world around us a better place. If you have any questions about my work experience or research please feel free to reach out!
